Description: Pleasant Hill G.C. is looking for an individual that is hands on, self-motivated, has a passion to exceed expectations, and will be the right fit for our culture. P.H.G.C. is a 27-hole public facility that was established in 1962. It is located in Chardon, OH in the heart of Geauga County. The Superintendent will be responsible for the successful operation of the course maintenance and its staff. In order to maximize rounds, the superintendent will work closely with ownership and club house managers to schedule maintenance practices around daily play and outings. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
- To provide direction to maintain the golf course at the best condition possible at all times.
- To provide programs for turf, plant material, chemical applications and all assets on property.
- To provide a good working knowledge of irrigation system and watering practices.
- To responsible of hiring, scheduling, training and developing the course staff.
- To be a Team player able to foster relations with patrons, staff and ownership to assist in growing the game of golf.
- Must have good verbal communications skills.
- To have a minimum of a two degree preferably in Agronomics or related field. Or 3 to 5 years management experience as an Assistant Superintendent in golf course maintenance operations.
- Must have a valid driver's license and OH Pesticide applicator's License or able to get one within 90 days.
