Description: Briarwood Golf Club in Northeast Ohio is looking for an Assistant Superintendent. The current Assistant Superintendent will be moving on to further his career as a Golf Course Superintendent. Whether you are looking to learn the trade and further your career or looking for a long-term stable work environment, Briarwood could be the place for you! This position will assist in overseeing staff, work directly with the Superintendent on the day-to-day operations, repair and fix irrigation, inventory, record keeping and helping to train staff on the safe and proper operation of equipment. 

Qualifications: 

Responsibilities/Requirements: 

• Assist in Daily operations 
• Knowledge of pesticide/fertilizer applications, irrigation and drainage, water management, record keeping, training and other maintenance practices. 
• Working knowledge of maintenance of golf course tees, fairways, rough, native areas, bunkers, and greens; seeding and maintenance practices for golf course turf; planting, cultivating, pruning, and caring for plants, shrubs and trees. 
• Performs any and all golf course tasks as required by supervisor. 
• Valid driver's license 
• Must be highly motivated, goal driven and self-starter that can work unsupervised and remain productive throughout the week. 
• Be able to pick up at least 50 pounds 
• Must be highly organized, efficient, detail oriented 
• Moderate exposure to extreme cold, heat, working outdoors, chemicals, pesticides, gasoline, vibration, mechanical hazards and electrical hazards.
• Must have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
