Description: 

The Kirtland Country Club began as Leo Doro Farms, the estate of Mrs. Henry A. Everett - including the stone mansion built in 1910 that is now the Clubhouse. The property was purchased by stockholders in 1920 and the Club formally opened on July 9, 1921, with 233 members. 

Between 1921 and 1922, there was construction of a river dam, four Tennis Courts, Polo Fields, Swimming Pool and Men's Locker house. The Golf Course, designed by internationally known English architect Captain C.H. Allison, opened in 1922 as well. The golf course has undergone several renovations over the last 100 years. The most recent one was in the fall of 2022 which was designed by architect Jim Nangle and completed by Mottin Golf. This project was to restore the bunkers to their original design and run new drainage and a capillary concrete liner. They also raised the front of #3 green and reconstructed #16 green with new profile as well as a Subair drainage system.Equipment and Facility:

Main Responsibilities: 

• Communicate daily with Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents regarding daily operations and equipment needs. 
• Diagnose and repair equipment when needed. 
• Keep shop organized, clean, and safe. 
• Grind Reels/Bedknives and mower blades when needed. 
• Maintain and repair all golf / grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, tractors, aerators, sprayers, utility carts, blowers, etc. 
• Manage comprehensive preventative maintenance program. 
• Manage / maintain parts inventory and maintenance records. 
• Work with Superintendent forecasting / managing capital equipment program. 
• Maintain Hillside Tram and keep records with the state elevator inspector 

Qualifications: 

Experience Requirements/Desired Qualifications: 

• 2 - 3 years of golf course maintenance experience. 
• Strong knowledge of reel and rotary mowers. 
• Experience sharpening / grinding mower reels and bedknives. 
• Strong knowledge of small engine repair, along with hydraulic and electrical systems. 
• Welding experience. 
• Ability to read / interpret service and schematic manuals. 
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and ability to be on feet / walk for extended periods. 
• A team player who can communicate well with staff. 

Desired Qualifications:

• 2 - 3 years of golf course maintenance experience. 
• Strong knowledge of reel and rotary mowers. 
• Experience sharpening / grinding mower reels and bedknives. 
• Strong knowledge of small engine repair, along with hydraulic and electrical systems. 
• Welding experience. 
• Ability to read / interpret service and schematic manuals.
