Position Summary
The Pepper Pike Club is seeking a motivated and highly detail-oriented Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to support daily golf course maintenance operations while playing an active role in long-term agronomic planning and capital improvement initiatives. This position offers a clear path for career advancement and is ideal for an ambitious turf professional seeking growth toward a Head Golf Course Superintendent role. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and will assume responsibility for golf course operations in the Superintendent's absence. Key Responsibilities
Career Advancement & Professional Development
- Assist in planning, organizing, and supervising daily golf course maintenance operations.
- Implement and execute agronomic programs including turf health, fertilization, irrigation, and integrated pest management.
- Supervise, train, and develop maintenance staff; assist with scheduling and leadership responsibilities, maintaining accountability as and when required.
- Assist with operation, troubleshooting, and repair of the irrigation system.
- Monitor course conditions and recommend improvements to playability and aesthetics.
- Direct golf course operations in co-ordination with the other Assistant Superintendents in the absence of the Golf Course Superintendent.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and club policies.
- Participate in budgeting, inventory control, and recordkeeping.

- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Turfgrass Management or related field preferred.
- 2-4 years of golf course maintenance experience, supervisory experience a plus.
- Strong understanding of turfgrass agronomic and management practices and irrigation systems.
- Ohio pesticide license or ability to obtain one in a specific timeframe.
- Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery.
- Valid Driver's License.
